The Zinfandels of the 2021 vintage are simply transcendent: Seductive and precise with incredible depth and sophistication. And this wine is everything you expect from a Rockpile Zin, including aromas of candied Santa Rosa plum, crushed violet candy, milk chocolate shavings, espresso grounds, spice and graphite. The entry is silky and the texture is fine-grained and velvety with lingering flavors of ripe red fruits and sweet earth.

Our 2021 Jack’s Cabin Zinfandel is a delicious and complex wine. Aromatics include sticky blackberry compote, espresso grounds and purple iris petal, with a soft dusting of cedar and vanilla. A beautiful intensity persists on the palate, with explosive fresh blue and black fruits, coffee bean and dried herbs. An almost chewy texture balances generous tannins and a lingering fresh finish.

Stunning perfume of violet petals, black cherry preserves, and chocolate box gives way to soft tones of dark plum flesh and sweet earthen char. The texture is effortless, with mountain-grown power and restraint. This wine resolves perfectly, with a multi-layered, persistent finish of ripe black fruits and a lovely, defining freshness.

The growing season for this vintage yielded Zinfandels with transcendent plushness and sophisticated character. The Får also has a complex aromatic profile reminiscent of dark fruit compote, savory dried herbs, crushed graphite and red earth mineral.

Our 2021 Buck Pasture takes full advantage of this incredible fruit. It’s multi-dimensional on the nose, with intriguing aromas of red and dark fruits, sweet forest floor, sweet spice, dark cacao and savory herbs.

Our intention with the Madrone Spring is to create a blend that not only exemplifies this unique area of our original homesteaded property but also showcases the extraordinary affinity and alchemy of Zinfandel, Petite Sirah and Syrah. Dominant notes of candied black cherry, blackberry compote, blue floral tones and shaved vanilla pod.

Our Rockpile Cabernet is beautifully detailed on the nose, with perfumed notes of black cherries, dried violets, loganberry, dusty iron red earth, shaved cocoa bean, woodsmoke, coastal dried underbrush and anise. Its vibrant and energetic entry leads to the expected full-bodied expression of a Rockpile Cabernet Sauvignon.

Perfumed ripe summer blackberry, pomegranate seed, sweet spice, and crushed violet candy mingle beautifully with sweet pie crust, almond paste, and vanilla pod aromas. On the palate this Zinfandel is energetic and multi-faceted. Details of fresh dark fruits and toasted coffee bean give way to a core of inviting plush tannins and a long fresh finish. 

This Russian River Zinfandel exudes detailed aromas ripe blackberry flesh, kirsch, cocoa shavings and nuanced sweet floral notes. It's bright and energetic on the entry, leading to a core of explosive exotic wild berry with alluring Earl Grey tea leaf notes.

The Loam Cabernet Sauvignon is the proprietary blend of grapes sourced from vineyards planted in Positas, Suther, and Clough soils. It is comprised of the best vineyards, grown in the best soil, from the best appellations. Perfectly structured, Loam balances the brightness and focused tannins of hillside fruit with the dense, rich characteristics of fruit grown in the ancient riverbed and valley floor soils.

Formed through sedimentary flow, Clough soil is a gravelly loam, layered in quartz and chert. This soil is found on gently undulating old terraces at elevations of 200 to 1,000 feet. Moderately well drained, Clough is derived from conglomerates and other sedimentary rocks and is considered to be a moderately acidic soil with a normal pH of 5.8. 
 

Tumbled through the ages by creeks and rivers, Positas is a gravelly Loam soil formed in alluvial material. Primarily located between 200 and 1,000 feet in elevation, Positas soils are found on stream terraces and side slopes, commonly referred to as benchland, home to some of the greatest Cabernet Sauvignon.
