Wine Profile
Vineyard Notes
Tumbled through the ages by creeks and rivers, Positas is a gravelly Loam soil formed in alluvial material. Primarily located between 200-1,000 feet in elevation, Positas soils are found on stream terraces and side slopes, commonly referred to as benchland, home to some of the greatest Cabernet Sauvignon.
These soils are nutrient rich and moderately deep, yet well-drained. Cabernet thrives in the environment provided by Positas soils, yielding fruit with thick skins, broad tannins and rich characteristics. With a pH ranging from 6.0 to 8.0, Positas soils are slightly acidic.

Winemaker Notes
The 2018 Positas is a refined, yet powerful, Cabernet Sauvignon, with a detailed nose of blackberry compote, dried fig, star of anise and sweet dried sage. Chewy and firm tannins give way to notes of espresso, tobacco, and black fruits. The staying power of this Cabernet Sauvignon is demonstrated in its youthfulness and lingering finish. It will age gracefully for the next 10-15 years.
